DIY Acne Remedies You Can Try at Home

Have you been struggling with acne breakouts? If so, then you have probably searched far and wide for different treatments only to find that they were costly and didn’t do what was promised.

Instead of spending all your money in the store on over the counter solutions that may be filled with harsh chemicals and additives, you should instead try some DIY acne remedies at home to help treat your acne breakouts.

Jojoba Oil

This is considered a carrier oil and is often used in combination with essential oils for topical treatments. It is good for repairing damaged skin and can help speed up the healing process. It has also been found to help reduce skin inflammation and reduce redness and swelling that occurs around pimples.

To use jojoba oil as an acne remedy, you can mix it with a gel, cream, or clay face mask and then apply it to your face. You can also make a facial oil when using jojoba as a carrier. For this, you will need:

You will want to fill a dark-colored amber bottle two-thirds of the way with your jojoba oil. (The measurements above are not exact, but should rather be used as a point of reference). Add the nourishing Tamanu oil until the bottle is almost full and then add only up to ten drops of your Palmarosa oil because this will give you the smell and benefit without overdoing it.

You can then apply it to the skin after cleansing. The mixture should be good when kept out of sunlight for 8 to 12 months.

Argan Oil

Argan oil is effective at helping to balance the sebum production of the skin and is ideal for a variety of different skin types.

To make a face oil to help combat acne, you will need:

Combine the two oils in a dark amber glass bottle and then shake the mixture to combine. After thoroughly washing your face, apply three to five drops of the blend to your clean hands and then rub it into your face.

Essential Oil Anti-Acne Blend

This DIY recipe involves combining several effective essential oils with jojoba oil to create a nourishing face oil blend for acne-prone skin.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 4 tablespoons of jojoba oil
  • 10 drops of frankincense oil
  • 5-10 drops of Vitamin E oil
  • 4 drops of lavender oil
  • 5 drops of tea tree essential oil

Mix all of the oils together and pour them into a dark-colored bottle so that the oils do not oxidate. For easier skin application, you can pour the oils into an applicator bottle. The mixture can be applied to clean skin several times a week.

All of the DIYs above are easy to follow and can become an integral part of your skincare routine to prevent acne breakouts.

Meta: Acne breakouts can be a pain especially if you are unsure of what kind of acne remedies you can make at home without breaking the bank.
